Aramayis Galumyan
Dr. Aramayis Galumyan received his primary medical education in Yerevan at Mkhitar Heratsi State Medical University. He continued his postgraduate studies at Kuban Medical University in the Russian Federation, specializing first in abdominal surgery and later in interventional radiology. Throughout his professional career, he has undergone advanced training in leading medical centers across Europe, Taiwan, Russia, and the United States, focusing on interventional radiology and hepatobiliary surgery.
Dr. Galumyan has worked at several medical centers in Yerevan and served as a faculty member at the Department of Surgery No. 4 of Yerevan State Medical University.
In 2014, he established Armenia’s first interventional radiology service, laying the foundation for this medical specialty in the country. Throughout his work in various clinics, he also established and led IR services where he performed a wide range of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of varying complexity. These included interventions involving the biliary tract, parenchymal organ tumors, abscesses in different parts of the body, as well as procedures related to the thyroid, lungs, bones, and other organs.
Recognized as the founder of interventional radiology in Armenia, Dr. Galumyan has introduced more than 60 innovative diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to the country. Continuously refining his skills through regular training in world-renowned clinics, he performs a broad spectrum of non-vascular interventional radiology procedures as well as abdominal surgeries in Armenia.
His decades of experience and unwavering commitment to advancing medicine culminated in the creation of a specialized center. In 2025, following years of dedicated work, Dr. Galumyan founded the Interventional Radiology Center—the first and only large-scale facility of its kind not only in Armenia, but in the entire region. The center offers nearly all modern, minimally invasive procedures available in leading global medical institutions, bringing world-class care to Armenia.
